About the Wilmington Convention Center The Wilmington Convention Center has several sections that can be rented depending on the size and type of event being held. The exhibition hall has 30,000 square feet of usable space and is the largest section of the convention center. This is ideal for conventions and trade shows, and the facility is equipped with a full range of power supplies to allow the setup and use of any display devices necessary. The exhibit hall is also equipped with audio and visual equipment to allow for presentations and demonstrations if needed. From weddings to conventions and sales meetings, the convention center does it all. There are also two ballroom sections available for rent. The grand ballroom is 12,000 square feet and can be divided into smaller sections as needed for smaller events or reception areas for weddings and other special events. The junior ballroom, while smaller, still has the same high-quality ballroom floor and can also be subdivided if necessary into meeting rooms or small display or reception areas. In addition, there is nearly 5800 square feet of additional space divided into smaller meeting rooms for conferences and events. Between the wide range of spaces available and the kinds of audio visual and power supplies available, there is almost nothing that can’t be done at the Wilmington Convention Center. Things to do in Wilmington Wilmington is also home to a thriving motion picture industry. Major shows and movies are shot in and around Wilmington, including shows like Dawson’s Creek and Sleepy Hollow and movies like Iron Man 3. The city also hosts a major film festival each year, Cucalorus, which features independent films. There is also another annual film festival hosted by the Cape Fear Independent Film Network.
