About West Town West Town historically has been known for its diverse population mix. That mix now represents the bohemian, student, artist type personality which seems to draw in the more affluent residents. West Town is considered the combination of eight neighborhoods (Pulaski Park, Wicke Park, Ukrainian Village, East Village, River West, Noble Square Humbolt Park, and Smith Park). Each of these areas are known for their shopping, culinary delights, and night life. The Chicago Transportation Authority (CTA) provides public transportation for the area by way of the CTA Blue Line. There are for stops in the neighborhood and direct access to O’Hare International Airport and the Loop. The Kennedy Expressway or I-90 is the thoroughfare for commuters to travel downtown. Homes in each of the eight neighborhoods vary greatly however they all over single family housing, apartments, condos, and townhouses. These areas range from affordable to luxury living. In each neighborhood you can find suitable affordable housing to meet your needs. Housing prices continue to come back to life like no other neighborhood. There is so much to see in do in all of Chicago but some of the more notable places available in and around the West Town are include: Chopin Theatre, Multikulti, The Show Below and Society of Arts. The music venues Double Door and Empty Bottle are also popular with the locals. Make sure you go see the certified mixologist at The Violent Hour there order up a banana peanut butter and jelly sandwich which comes deep fried and dusted with bacon crumbs. Many residence of West Town attend the Do Division Street Fest and Sidewalk Sale annually. It’s where Garage Sale meets festival with lots of activities and things to buy.
