Uptown New York Airport Shuttle Service
While there is still plenty to see and do in uptown, it is not the tourist attraction that midtown and downtown are. Generally, you will find it a quieter, more reserved section of the city. There are some significant differences between the neighborhoods that make up uptown though in general they all share the quiet elegance that sets the area apart from its southern neighbors.
Uptown New York |
Not everyone agrees on exactly what uptown is in New York. Some people don’t really consider it uptown until you get north of Central Park. For our purposes, we’re calling anything north of midtown uptown, including Upper East and West sides. | |
About Uptown New York One thing you will immediately notice about uptown is that it is much more family friendly than midtown or downtown. The lower sections of Manhattan are where the singles go for fun, though there are families and some neighborhoods, like Murray Hill, are becoming increasingly more family friendly. In general, however, if you are looking to relocate your family to Manhattan, it’s worth taking a good look at uptown, so book in advanced JFK airport shuttle rides or LaGuardia and arrive in no time. The weather in New York is fairly moderate. There are about one hundred twenty two days of rain per year. Temperatures in the nineties are not overly common and it is very rare to break one hundred degrees Fahrenheit. In the wintertime, temperatures get above freezing for all but twenty days of the year. Living in uptown there is less of a chance that you will be able to walk to work. Making your way to midtown or downtown is pretty simple on the public transit system. Just keep in mind that you’ll want a good umbrella for walking to the subway and just because the thermometer is reading above freezing doesn’t mean that the wind won’t be eating right through your coat. If you’re new to city living you’ll quickly learn that ninety degrees on concrete feels a lot hotter than ninety degrees on grass. |
