Lawrence Airport Shuttle Service
There are basically two airports near the University of Kansas, both are accessible by road. Lawrence Municipal LWC is the closest airport to the university. It is a small airfield that’s used for private and corporate jets. There are no scheduled commercial flights there.

Kansas City Airport located 46 miles from Lawrence is the closest commercial airport to the University of Kansas. It handles flights to different hubs like Memphis, San Francisco, Cleveland and Houston as well as connections to international destinations. Edwards Campus is located in Overland Park in Kansas City’s metropolitan area. There are also research and educational sites in Topeka and Parsons and branches of the Medical School in Salina and Wichita. Enrollment at the Edwards and Lawrence campuses stood at 23,579 in fall 2014. Another 3,371 were enrolled at the Medical Center during the same year, making the total enrollment for students across all three campuses at 26,968. Things to Do in Lawrence The Historic Driving Tour takes visitors to many of the sites that were involved during Quantrill’s Raid, the Massacre that took place in Lawrence in 1863. You can also view some of these sites over a self-guided walking tour which is normally organized by the Lawrence Convention & Visitors Bureau. Clinton Lake located just outside the city offers an excellent opportunity for fishing, boating, hunting, camping and hiking. There’s also an abundance of restaurants, cafes and bars that serve a variety of cuisines, and beverages. There are also parks and playgrounds and take walks and relax under the cool Kansas breeze.
