About Union City Bergenline Avenue is the longest running thoroughfare in the state and is home to over 300 restaurants and retail stores with daily round trip shuttles to John F. Kennedy Airport and LaGuardia International. At the southern end of Bergenline Avenue, it is mostly filled with residential occupants. Union City is a proud supporter of the Urban Enterprise Zone. Bergenline is also known as the Miracle Mile. Union City has public transportation due in part to the New Jersey Transit bus service. There are also dollar vans available for public transportation around the town or nearby. General Taxi and Champion Taxi also have cab service available in Union City. Nearby towns also have car rental agencies such as Enterprise and Avis, Dollar and Budget have agencies located close to Union City also. Union City itself is not home to hotels, but nearby cities of Bergen and others do have hotels and motels available. Holiday Inn, Candlewood Suites and Crowne Plaza are some of the popular hotels in the area. Eating out in Union City is no easy decision due to the variety of restaurants available. The international cuisine ranges from Thai, Cuban, and Latin to American. Attractions include many historical landmarks, buildings and sights to adventures on the water, cruises, sports activities and visiting museums, theaters and wildlife destinations.
