Transportation from the airport to the university is through taxis and shuttles. On and off campus transportation is provided by Citibus under the guidance and direction of Texas Tech’s Student Government Association. The on-campus service is usually free to anyone who is on the campus. Students may also ride for free on any off-campus Citibus route as long as they show their Texas Tech ID card. Cabs in Lubbock are provided by Safe Ride which is a Texas Tech campus shuttle service. Students can also ride for free from anywhere in Lubbock with a student ID. The other transport options are Greyhound which is a passenger bus that is situated four miles from the university. Amtrak is another method of transportation that is a passenger train which is about four hours away from the university. About Texas Tech University Things to do in Lubbock Next is the Silent Wings Museum. This is a museum in Lubbock that tells the story of gliders which were used during the second World War. There is also the Omni Theater. This theater is between the university and Indiana and features a unique domed screen and an advanced projector system which allows the audience to feel like a part of the movie.
