SHJ is the second largest airport in the Middle East. More than 8 million people travel through the airport each year. Sharjah itself is known for its culture, heritage, and its tourist. Many tourist never set foot in Sharjah; it’s quite conservative, there’s no alcohol, parties, fancy restaurants, traffic, or beaches. However what it lacks in hip and trendy it makes up with its arts and culture.

Things to do in Sharjah
Although Sharjah won’t appeal to the party crowd if you’re an art lover you’ll be entering the cultural capital of the UAE. The Sharjah Art Museum is known worldwide and is the largest in the UAE. Enjoy 72 galleries on 3 floors. The Central Market nicknamed the Blue Souk, has over 60 shops that sell jewelry, food, electronics, gift items, perfume, clothes, and more.

There is also a Natural History Museum and Desert Park where you can learn about the Arabian Desert and the type of plants, animals, and geology there is in the UAE. Al Qasba where you can ride the Eye of the Emirates a huge Ferris wheel that lets you view the city if you don’t lose your lunch. There are more museums, shopping venues, and Kalba where you can go fishing.
