 | The SeaGate Centre is a major convention center that serves Toledo, Ohio and the greater Toledo area. This center has been a fixture of the community since it opened in 1987 and provides access to conferences, trade shows and entertainment events throughout the year. It can also host special events as needed. |
The main exhibition area of the SeaGate Centre is 74,520 square feet, although the area can be divided to make multiple areas or accommodate smaller exhibitions. In addition to the exhibition area, there are several other sections of the convention center, including meeting spaces that measure a total of 17,552 square feet. The exhibition area seats up to 9000 people when set up meeting style. It can also be set up to function as a banquet area, which can accommodate up to 5100 people. It can be configured to make three small performance areas or can be configured to make a single large performance area that seats 5900 people. In this way, the convention center can be used for concerts and large shows. The facility has its own catering program to facilitate banquets and other special events. They can be contracted to provide food and beverages for both large groups and small groups and staff is also available to serve and clean up if necessary. The SeaGate Centre has full audio and visual equipment and can accommodate professional concerts and shows as well as presentations and meetings, making it a versatile space that is in high demand in the Toledo area. Toledo itself has many amenities. The Toledo Museum of Art hosts a wide variety of visual art exhibitions, both permanent and on a rotating basis. In addition, the Peristyle is the Greek Revival style east wing of the museum and is used for performing arts events, including the Toledo Symphony Orchestra, which uses it as their home. Toledo also has its own opera company, Toledo Opera, located at another theater downtown. The Toledo Museum of Arts has a visual arts building located across the street from the main facility, designed by famed architect Frank Gehry. Toledo is also a well known home for public, outdoor art. Toledo has a wide ranging sports scene, including an auto raceway, minor league hockey, minor league baseball, women’s roller derby and women’s contact football.
