About the Sacramento Convention Center Complex A huge part of the California Gold Rush and the last destination along the Pony Express Sacramento is steep in a rich history. Including being home to UC Davis Medical Center a world renowned research hospital. With all the things Sacramento has going for it, they needed a place to hosts events. Sacramento Convention Center Complex is just the place to do that. Located in the heart of downtown Sacramento it is 134,000 sq. ft. venue that has 31 meeting rooms, an outdoor terrace and 24,000 sq. ft. ballroom. The complex also houses two theaters and a memorial auditorium. The exhibit halls are convertible to best fit all your needs. With 12 loading docks accessibility is never an issue. Located on the 3rd floor of the Convention Center is the ballroom which can accommodate up to 1,500 people or a meeting with 2,500 people seated in theater style seats. The ballroom can also be divided to make 10 smaller meeting spaces. Also in the complex is the Community Center Theater a 2,422 seat venue. Home to the cultural side of Sacramento it houses all the Broadway musicals that come to town along with Sacramento’s ballet, opera, community concerts and speaker series. The historical Memorial Auditorium has hosted many popular mainstream concerts along with local events such as high school/college graduations. It is listed on the National Historic Register. If you just need a small venue with 272 seats then the Jean Runyon Little Theater is what you need. It is perfect for recitals, small theater plays, puppet shows and poetry readings. Things to do in Sacramento When you want to unwind from your event you can head to the Sacramento Zoo or Folsom Zoo. If animals aren’t you thing then you can always catch a Sacramento Kings basketball game. There are some great museum choices to choose from as well like Crocker Art Museum or California State Railroad Museum. Of course you can’t leave the capitol without taking a tour of the California Capitol building. There are plenty of parks and trails located throughout the city like American River Bicycle Trail or William Land Park.
