Sabah Shuttle Service provides group transportation from the airport to different destinations across the city. Their shuttle vans and private cars carry 4-5 passengers and advance reservation is required. Drivers can speak English so you won’t have to worry about the language barrier. Private taxicabs as well as airport taxis can be reached just outside the terminal and they will ferry to your hotel. It is advisable to choose a metered taxi or negotiate with the driver for a good price. Hotels near SBV view Hotel is situated a short 3 minutes’ walk from the airport and it offers a number of amenities. Staff is friendly, rooms are spacious and clean, and the food is delicious. All rooms are equipped with ACs. Tilbud Hotel Sabah is another excellent choice of accommodation situated a few minutes from the airport. The outfit features a number of modern facilities and is ideal for families. Ambassador Hotel and Rumginae are other ideal choices. About Kota Kinabalu Sabah International Airport Sabah Airport is a small and well-designed facility. But in-line with a boom in tourist arrivals plans are underway to renovate the airport and build another terminal to cater for the influx in passenger arrivals. Currently there’s only one terminal which caters mostly for domestic and regional carriers. Current carriers serving the airport include AirAsia, Tiger Airways, Malaysian Airlines, Garuda Indonesia and Silk Air. These provide regular services to cities like Kuala Lumpur, Jakarta, Singapore and Penang with connections to hundreds of global destinations. SBV has a duty free shop, several restaurants which serve a variety of eastern and western cuisines, Wi-Fi, a smoking area, ATMs and a tourist help desk. Parking is also available just outside the Arrivals Hall. From Sabah Airport, travelers can cross the border into Borneo and Brunei and get to explore the unique landscape found on this tiny paradise of southeast Asia.
