Roscoe Village does offer a wide variety of eateries, watering holes, and great places to shop. The schools are prized as some of the best in Chicago making Roscoe Village a great place to raise a family. The residents here boast that their ethnic and socioeconomic diversity makes them unique.

This area is ideal for families. One look around and you will see the many strollers, four legged friends, and families that make up the area. For those not too keen on yard work Roscoe Village offers conventional flats and walk-ups. These offer just enough space for small families that are just starting out. For those that want the front yard there is also a large pool of traditional houses. There is a recent rise in new construction so there is plenty of opportunity for housing in this area.

Remember that Roscoe Village is a small piece of heaven for families so a night out on the town here is a bit relaxed and not like the wild party place you might find if you lived in other areas in Chicago. Establishments may have music that is supplied by jukebox, or every once in a while Hungry Brain will host and impromptu jazz concert (impromptu being the key word). Other great night spots include the Four Moon Tavern, The village Tap, Liberty Lounge, Four Treys Tavern, and Underbar. If you are ready to rock out then you want to experience the live music entertainment provided by Beat Kitchen. Beat Kitchen features national and local artist from every musical genre. Here you can get dinner and a show; the meals are upscale and the venue holds no more than about 150 people so it’s an intimate crowd.

Summertime in Roscoe Village is when this neighborhood really comes to life. Three of the most popular festivals are the Belmont Arts and Music festival, the Retro on Roscoe festival, the Roscoe Village Burger Fest. A couple of blocks will close and stages go up that feature live music, unique crafts, and fun for all of the residents.
