About River North
The River North neighborhood is directly north of the Loop just across the river. In this neighborhood you won’t really find any single family homes, but there you will find that the towering mid-rise apartments and high-rises make up the housing choices here. Many of the upscale lofts have been renovated from old warehouses that were unoccupied.

River North is an architectural landmine with buildings like the Trump International hotel & Tower dominating the skyline or the world famous Wrigley Building that has been there since the 192’s and the Holy Name Cathedral with its Gothic Revival style.

The River North area is the place to be at night, whether you are seeing on the legendary musical acts at the House of Blues or dancing at the Sound bar this neighborhood is where the night life comes to life. Don’t forget to visit the Redheaded Piano Bar and the Castle Chicago also.

If you are looking for a more main stream night out like a pint of Guinness in an Irish Pub you can head over to the Brehon Pub or beer on the outdoor patio of the Clark Street Ale House if the temperatures are above 65 degrees. If you want to try something different the Baton Show Lounge shows a full burlesque female impersonators show that include acts like Janet Jackson, Cher, and Whitney Houston.

River North residents really know how to throw a party. The annual Taste of River North is the best block party that you will ever attend. You won’t find any paper plates here and hot dogs aren’t on the menu. The event takes place in late July and includes live music, children’s events and activities for the entire family not to mention great food.
