About Reston
Robert Simon planned this city and in the past 50 years with hard word, and strict "guiding principles" has made this dream a reality. The plan was to create a place where people can live, work and play in their own neighborhoods. It had to be a place with common grounds, unparalleled natural beauty. Finally, Simon wanted to incorporate the fact that people change and grow as do their housing needs. Part of the concept of Reston was to allow residents to live through their life changes and choose housing to complement those needs while remaining in their home town.

Reston had a unique design, the planning commission allows for common grounds, many parks and large areas of carefully maintained wooded areas with streams and meadows. Reston also incorporated more than 20 public pools, bike paths, multiple lakes, tennis courts and walking paths that allow easy travel to all the features. The natural beauty of the area is evident with various types of trees, wildlife. Reston is a modern city with all of the amenities needed such as educational facilities, modern hospitals and is close to Washington DC. But the focus was and is on providing a standard of living. It is the creation of an environment that is beautiful and peaceful as well as convenient and interesting.

Visitors to Reston can enjoy a luxurious stay at The Westin Reston Heights. This beautiful hotel offers an indoor penthouse pool, a rooftop state of the art gym and views that are breathtaking. It is adjacent to the Reston National Golf Course and there is shuttle service from the Washington Dulles International Airport. This is the perfect location for a wedding, or a weekend getaway. Of course there are other luxury hotels, such as the Sheraton Reston Hotel. The Sheraton has a wonderful spa, a club, Wi-Fi and many facilities to encourage the business community. There are several very nice hotels in Reston that are clean, comfortable, and economical and designed for a quick trip to this great city.

There are so many fantastic places to dine in Reston; space will not allow us to do them justice. Here are just a few that are well worth a trip. The food and service is exceptional at Morton’s The Steakhouse. Their menu is wonderful, and for more than 30 years Morton’s has been "the place" for a great steak! Make sure you make reservations, as they are usually booked and for good reason. For the finest seafood anywhere, The Passion Fish is unbeatable. They offer private dining with seating up to 50 guests. They also have a beautiful upstairs balcony area which can seat up to 70. They have a fantastic staff who will attend your every need. Of course there are many family style restaurants and food selections that anyone will love.
