About the Port of San Diego

San Diego Harbor Information
Cruise ships have their very own terminal set aside for them in San Diego Harbor. You will disembark right at the bayside entrance to downtown. There is an International Visitors Center right outside the terminal which is staffed with multilingual workers seven days a week. They can steer you in the right direction for lodging, attractions, and dining, as well as inform you of any discounted tickets that are available to cruise ship passengers.

From the port, it is an easy walk to many downtown attractions. This includes the Gaslamp Quarter and Little Italy, which have the best dining and nightlife in the city. They are also full of trendy shops and boutiques. Each has their own style. The Gaslamp Quarter is full of Victorian architecture and Little Italy really has captured the atmosphere of its mother country.

Things to do in San Diego
You could easily spend all day in Balboa Park. The world famous, 1,200 acre park is packed full of all kinds of attractions, including San Diego Zoo which takes at least four hours to view properly. The park also has over fifteen museums covering art, history and nature. The Old Globe Theater always has wonderful shows and the parks eight gardens are beautiful no matter what time of year you visit.

If you’d like to see more marine life, visit Sea World. Get up close and personal with dolphins, penguins, and whales, plus see the famous Shamu. There are also a number of thrill rides in the park. For more rides, head to Legoland and enjoy the interactive attractions there.

Spend time on the water kayaking or go out in larger ships for whale watching. Ocean Beach offers a long stretch of the perfect surfing water, with breakers ideal for beginners and getting steadily more difficult the farther south you go.
