About the Portland Convention Center If the downtown scene doesn’t fit you, the Colombia River Gorge is just 35 minutes from downtown, as is some of the most beautiful wine country on the west coast. The Oregon Convention Center has also gained a reputation as a leader in sustainable practices as they strive to be the greenest events facility in the world. The Oregon Convention Center has hosted everything from conventions and industry trade shows to business meetings, auctions, and private receptions. The Center has two grand ballrooms, fifty meeting rooms, 255,000 square feet of exhibition space, high quality concessions and over 110 full time professional staff members to handle any event you want to host. The Center’s two ballrooms hold over 3,000 people each and can be subdivided for smaller settings. The meeting rooms vary greatly in size, holding as few as fifteen people and going upwards of 300, making them perfect for your group no matter how small or large it is. The exhibition lobbies can be used as 255,000 square feet of contiguous space or divided into halls. The Center’s audio-visual crew has a full customizable setup, ready to spotlight your event no matter what configuration you go with. The Center’s security team maintains 24 hour security on the building and there are two fully equipped first aid rooms on site. Pacific Wild, the Center’s catering and concessions team, showcases fresh, local food while still offering delicious Asian stir-fry and mouth-watering Mexican dishes. They prepare everything from fresh baked goods and organic coffee to your classic hot sandwiches and sausages, along with wine, spirits, and local microbrews. The Inn at the Convention Center is conveniently located directly across the street from the Oregon Convention Center. The hotel is 100% nonsmoking and offers complimentary parking for overnight guests. Guest laundry is available on the second floor and the check in clerk can give you discount information for the local restaurants. Pets are welcome for an additional cleaning fee.
