 | Pierre Regional Airport, a municipal airport owned by the city, lies three miles from the heart of the city of Pierre, South Dakota. One airline company, Great Lakes Airline (a subsidiary company to Delta Airlines and United Airlines) is the only scheduled flight at the airport. |
There are two main parking lots, one for long and one for short term parking. The short term parking lot offers passengers free parking for up to 48 hours. The long term parking lot allows for free parking up to two weeks. Please call the airport directly for stays that are longer than two weeks vehicle thought to be abandoned or are found on the lot more than two weeks without a pass are subject to towing. There is a rental car agency counter available inside the terminal. Avis Rent-a-Car and Budget Rent-a-Car are available for all of your rental car needs. The rental car parking lot is available outside the main terminal to the left near the employee parking lot. Maverick Rental Cars is also available roughly 4 miles away from the airport they offer complimentary pickup to the rental agency office from the terminal entrance. About Pierre Airport The airport sees an average of 30,000 flights annually, with more than 80 average flights daily. Spanning more than 1,700 acres of land, the airport houses a main terminal and two asphalt runways. During World War II, it was used as supply airfield for the United States Army. PIR Airport Terminals River City Taxi is one of the two contracted companies working with the airport. Though not always on site, they are available at a moment’s notice and are open 24 hours a day or taxi services. Forell Limo is available for all of your livery and limo needs (please call ahead for reservations). There are no public buses or railway stops at the airport.
