The airport handles approximately 25,000 passengers annually. Cape Air and Penobscot Island Air dominate the facility. During summer months, RKD experiences a surge in passenger arrivals, with notable private charter flights bringing in hordes of visitors to the different summer colonies around the Penobscot Bay area. This influx led to the implementation of a night curfew on passenger arrivals between 10 pm and 6 am. RKD ‘s only terminal facility has a number of basic amenities and features like Internet access, greeting area and an ATM.
