Truly get immersed in the city’s rich backdrop by taking a tour through its most renown landmarks, from slave-built structures echoing back to the region’s dark past, to beloved restaurants and vendors offering an opportunity to meet the locals. Some of these vendors can be found through the cruise port’s adjacent Prince George Wharf, a preclude to Parliament Square’s palm-filled gardens resting outside a stoic pastel building, the nearby Pompey Museum offering the same architecture but covered with graffiti street art, its interior showcasing the history of the island’s 18th-century slave auctions. Other interesting structures can be found more inland, including the jail-turned-library at Nassau Public Library, as well as the sad but beautiful experience of climbing the Queen’s Staircase.
