There are taxis Missouri Greene Taxi and Yellow Cab of Missoula and a shuttle service. Public transportation also serves the airport with Line Mountain line, which has 11 trips every weekday. The amount of passengers has increased significantly in recent years. Therefore, the airport authority has planned an extension of the facility such as parking lots, gates, taxis, illumination and the addition of a new terminal. Some improvements were done in 1994 with the renovation of the main terminal, and in 1998 with the airway boulevard interchange construction that connected interstate 90 to the airport. In recent time (2008), the creation of a de-icing started. This new facility has gigantic size equal to four football fields!! At the moment, the Airport Authority is remodeling the air traffic control tower. In the nearby future, the airport plans to increase its capacity and, thus, augment parking, expand terminals to accommodate bugger planes and new illuminating system. Things to do in Missoula The facility hosts within its perimeter two museums: The Museum Of Mountain Flying and the Modern And Contemporary Art Museum. The first is situated on the east side of the airport and thru aircrafts, pieces of art craft and photos narrate the history of aviation. The second holds representative works of three native Missoula artists. Regarding shopping, there is high country gifts with two locations inside the terminal and high country gifts.
