Located just five miles from Sannomyia Station of Japan lies the Kobe International Airport. While most of the flights that land at Kobe Airport are domestic flights, the airport and airport facilities are able to accommodate larger, commercial flights.

With more than 3,000 spaces available, you shouldn’t have trouble finding a parking space. The first 30 minutes in all lots is complimentary. Long term parking begins at 150 yen per hour roughly $1.25 USD. Rates vary after the first 24 hours depending on length of stay and rates are subject to change without notice. Parking areas are well maintained and spacious and patrolled at night.

There is a train system, known as the Port Liner, that makes stops at the terminal. Travel from the airport to downtown is roughly 20 minutes and just under an hour to Kyoto Station. Train schedules and fares are subject to change; fare and schedule cards are available at the waiting stations.

The Kobe Kanku Shuttle on the Bay is a high speed ferry that takes passengers from the Kobe to the Kansi airport across the bay. Kansi is one of the busiest airports in the area. There is a small taxi rank located outside the main terminal that any taxi company in the area can use. There are no public busses that make stops at this airport. There are no subways at this airport.

The airport has made several expansions over the years, starting with the original design and construction beginning in 2006. The airport now spans more than 2,500 acres of land. In 2006, the airport saw more than 2.5 million passengers on more than 5 airlines. The airport consists of four runways and one main terminal building which holds four gates.

UKB Airport Terminals
Kobe Airport offers all of its passengers and guests free Internet access and there are also several charging stations available at no cost. Bathrooms are ample, spacious, well maintained and clean. There are beautiful roof top gardens for observation, and there is also a restaurant known as the RoofTop Garden Restaurant. There is an emergency medical station located on each flood of the terminal and an EMT station on the top floor for those with breathing or heart complications. The Akasha Restaurant, located on the top floor, offers excellent Japanese cuisine with a full service bar. The MarineAir is the airports gift shop located on the second and third floors of the terminal.
