Local bus routes cover all the major hotels with specific routes dedicated to the convention center and hotel traffic as the airport is 15 miles west of the city center. Also Kansas City International Airport is located near the convention center for easy access for travelers. Bartle Hall Convention Center is located at 301 West 13th Street in Kansas City, Missouri. The facility is noted as one of the most appealing art deco designed structures in the United States. The building is regarded as one of the most original uses of stone and sculpture to decorate and enhance a public facility. About the Kansas City Convention Center The facility has a single exhibition floor that covers 338,800 square feet. There are 210,000 square feet of office and business space available for rental. A domed conference center that is 200,000 square feet in total space, an arts theater that seats 2,400, a sports arena that can seat 10,800, a 45,000 square foot ball room, and 45 meeting rooms are parts of the convention center complex. The convention center also has an outdoor square that is used for weddings, receptions, and concerts. The convention center provides access to local hotels, clubs, bars, and shopping through an underground walkway and skywalks. Catering is provided by two different companies. One restriction by state law is you cannot bring your own liquor to the convention center. There are 29 loading docks that directly access the convention center exhibition area. The convention center is a popular site for weddings and provides wedding facilities for as many as 700 guests in the Barney Allis Plaza, the Great Hall, the Grand Ballroom, and the Little Theater Ballroom.
