Some of the better taxi services are provided by Taxis Amarillo or Yellow Cabs, you must call ahead or book online with a service like Shuttles.com. You cannot catch one by hailing a taxi. The most common way to travel is by bus. The green Volvo buses that run through the city are Transmetro; they have dedicated lanes. They stop at certain stations which are guarded by police and drivers do not carry money. The blue and white buses are Trans urbano; these drivers don’t carry money either and fare is paid by prepaid SIGA cards. The cards must be purchased at designated customer service centers. The regular red city buses run all over the city on fixed routes and basically stop where ever a passenger request.
