About the Greater Richmond Convention Center Visitors to the conference center can enjoy the southern charm and hospitality of Richmond. The main level of the Greater Richmond Convention Center is composed primarily of the exhibition space. This large space provides 178,000 square feet. The room can be rented as it is or divided into up to four smaller rooms to accommodate smaller exhibition venues and shows. A concession cart is available for those who rent the exhibition hall. There are meeting rooms on the main level as well. The main floor contains eighteen different meeting rooms, plus a large lecture hall. Many of these meeting rooms can be combined to make larger meeting rooms or areas as needed. The second floor of the conference center has more meeting rooms. The remainder of the meeting rooms, an additional 14 of them, are located on the second floor. In total, there is more than 80,000 square feet of meeting room space at the convention center. For special events, the second floor also contains a ballroom. The ballroom is 30,550 square feet and can be divided into three smaller ballrooms, each with their own access and equipment. There is an in-house kitchen that can provide meals for meetings as well as gourmet meals for wedding receptions and banquets. Things to do in Richmond Richmond also offers historical landmarks and museums dedicated to its position in the Civil War. Richmond, as the capital of the Confederate States of America, has a proud tradition of military history that are exhibited in a range of battlefield and historical locations.
