You should consider contacting your individual lodging option for the specifics on their shuttle services and possible charges. But bear in mind that Galena is in the Alaskan Brush and not connected to the formal roadway system. It is accessible through GAL year round and seasonally by snow machine or by boat along the Yukon River. Another thing to consider is lodging a little bit before your arrival at GAL. The Springhill Suites by Marriott in Fairbanks is an excellent option. It features 140 rooms with wonderfully comfortable beds, kitchenettes, and ergonomic work spaces. There is an amazing pool and exercise room, as well as a continental breakfast and shuttle service. You can even stay right in the hotel for dinner by visiting Lavelle’s Bistro conveniently located on the hotel’s main level. For international travelers, the Yukon Inn is located in Whitehorse. It has been newly renovated and the entire inn is fully air conditioned. It does offer a complimentary airport shuttle. There is an onsite restaurant. Legends Smokehouse and Grill is open daily from 7am- 9pm. They are also home to the Boiler Room Bar which features live music Tuesday-Thursday and karaoke Fridays and Saturdays. The Alaska Grizzly Lodge is another amazing option. It is rustic and home located on the Chena River. You have the opportunity of seeing moose walk past your windows.
