Short for FNL, this airport is situated 17 kilometers (10 miles) southeast of downtown Fort Collins in Larimer County.  Since the closing of Fort Collins Downtown Airport in 2006, Fort Collins-Loveland Municipal Airport is the only airport to serve all areas in the city. Every year, FNL has over 100,000 airport operations.

Brief History of FNL
Fort Collins-Loveland Municipal Airport opened in 1964 under the ownership and joint deal by Fort Collins and Loveland. The development of the airport followed a momentous rise of enrollment at the CSU (Colorado State University) because of the civil rights movement.

For those who love sports and further adventures, you can do biking, hiking, swimming, camping, fish hunting and a lot more in the six and a half mile Horsetooth Reservoir.
