The central business district is then located two miles southwest of the airport if you do choose to drive yourself. Escanaba Scenic Sights It offers very limited commercial service to the traveler, their main flights being two flights to Detroit and one to Minneapolis daily. The National Plan of Integrated Airport Systems categorized it as a non-primary commercial service airport. This does not mean they no longer offer their commercial flights, it just means that it is not the airports specialty. The airport actually serves over five thousand commercial passengers a year, according to records taken in 2008. This airport has two asphalt-paved runways for their aircrafts and sees an average of one-hundred seven operations a day, according to a record taken in 2011. A majority of their operations are general aviation operations, taken up more than half of their operations. The next biggest operation they do is an air taxi operation followed by scheduled commercial operations and less than one percent of their operations are used by the military. For those wishing to one day learn to fly, the airport also conducts flying lessons to hopeful future pilots. Other amenities include free overnight parking in case you need to keep your car someplace safe. The airport also serves a pilots lounge and there is also Internet service. They do not have any restaurants inside but they do offer catering upon request if you find yourself hungry while waiting for your flight.
