Things to do in DRT
See the art at the old fire station named the Firehouse, exhibits are changed frequently or you can go to the Whitehead Memorial Museum. Camp, boat, or fish at the Amistad National Recreation Area. Explore the Indian pictographs which are only accessible by boat at Panther Cave or at Parida Cave. Taste award winning wine at the Val Verde Winery located downtown.

Try goat at La Hacineda a buffet style Mexican restaurant located downtown. "Cabrito" or goat is not on the menu, you have to ask for it, but it’s very good. Lorina’s Catina has a steak night on Wednesday nights; you’ll get a ¾ to 1lb steak, bake potato, and access to the salad bar. On Saturday night they have karaoke. Andreq Bourdain from the Travel Channel visited Todd and Bullets Bar & Grill or simply called T&B’s for their Corona Chicken. It’s Chicken stuffed with cheese wrapped in bacon. Del Rio also has a host of national chain restaurants like Chilli’s, Lubes, Wendy’s, McDonalds and more.

Hotels near DRT
There are many national hotel chains in the area from Best Western, the Ramada, Motel 6, and the LaQuinta. Camping in the Amistad National Recreation Area is also a popular choice. On Pecan Street the La Casita is a 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom adobe rentals home that is available for an extended stay. It’s fully stocked and furnished; it’s also conveniently located to the federal and district courthouse and hospital.
