Located in Bergen County, Cliffside Park is a borough in New Jersey. Founded in 1895, Cliffside Park was originally a town of farms and woods. Many of the business people who work in New York City have made their homes in the area of Cliffside Park.
About Cliffside Park
It is situated between the George Washington Bridge and the Lincoln Tunnel. Although the area of Cliffside Park is one square mile, and has daily transportation service from JFK airport. Cliffside Park is only a short drive from New York City, actually 12.4 miles away. The Avenue, as it is popularly known, but is actually Anderson Avenue, will take visitors through the downtown area. Here they will find loads of restaurants ranging in tastes and cultures.
 
Any taste from Turkish to Italian and Chinese can be found, as well as many American flavor staples. There are many shopping centers and entertainment facilities available for all sorts of recreation in Cliffside Park, New Jersey. Palisade Avenue, the other main thoroughfare in Cliffside Park offers a beautiful view of the Hudson River and also the gorgeous view of the New York Skyline.

Grant’s Tomb is located on the opposite side of the Hudson River, and the people of Cliffside Park have named a portion of their town after Grant. This area is known as Grantwood. The local government consists of the Mayor and the Borough Council. Education is a priority in this quaint town, with the ratio of student to teacher at sixteen to one. The education system does consist of kindergarten through senior high school. Located in town is also a Public Library.

Public transportation provides service back and forth from Manhattan, in New York. There are other routes that service the transportation needs of many throughout Jersey City and locally. The service is provided by New Jersey Transit. Hertz and Enterprise Car Rental have agencies located nearby for visitors who do not want to take advantage of the public transportation option.

Movies such as Cop Land and Big were filmed in Cliffside Park, and the television show The King of Queens features the front façade of a house located in Cliffside Park. There are actors, comedians and many other famous people that have resided in Cliffside Park.
