About the Blair County Convention Center The Blair County Convention Center is divided into several separate areas. The main areas of the center, and the display piece of the building, is the Grand Ballroom. This gorgeous space has 15,000 square feet and can seat 1000 people for a dinner or a banquet. It can also be arranged to form a theater that seats 1800 people. The space can also be divided to make smaller spaces to accommodate smaller groups or to accommodate several groups at the same time. The exhibition hall is larger, at around 24,000 square feet and is designed to be a large space for trade shows, conferences and exhibitions. This space can also be subdivided to make smaller groups or spaces or to allow for multiple groups at the same time. The convention center also offers 15,000 square feet of unstructured meeting space as well as eight breakout rooms to allow any size group to feel comfortable. The entire facility has wireless Internet access and data service. The center has its own catering group that can provide meals for meetings, as well as banquets and weddings or any other special event as needed. There is also an on-site business center for printing and copying needs. Things to do in Altoona The Railroaders Memorial Museum is another popular stop in Altoona. This museum commemorates the significance of railroads in the history of Altoona and celebrates the contributions of railroad workers throughout the country. There are rumors of a ghost that haunts the museum, the spirit of a former railroad worker.
