One of the unique features of the exhibition halls is the design that eliminated the need for columns. There are 54 meeting rooms. The third flood presents an open air atrium, a palazzo, and a rotunda that are in keeping with the colonial Mexican and Texan heritage of Austin. The exhibition halls cover the majority of the first and second floors of the Austin Convention Center. The exhibition halls have 29 separate gates for loading and unloading equipment and have two access ramps. The convention center has two parking garages that can accommodate 1,685 automobiles. The facility maintains its own Wi-Fi operation for exhibitors and guests. All phone, digital and audio presentation equipment, voice mail, VoIP, email, and Internet needs are managed through the convention center with onsite technical support 24 hours a day. The convention center provides its own catering service with on line menu selection. The facility maintains its own security service. The sound systems for the exhibition halls, ballrooms, and meeting rooms were designed by local music and acoustic professionals and are considered to be the top level of state-of-the-art.
