About The Augusta Convention Center Augusta is rich in history having served as the first state capitol of Georgia. It is also home to Springfield Baptist Church which is the oldest African American Church in America. The Augusta Convention Center was originally named the Trade, Exhibit, Event Center. It is owned by the city of Augusta. The venue has 200,000 sq. ft. of space and is located right next to a Marriott. They have a friendly staff that helps you to pick out the right floor plan or layouts for your special event. They also provide you with an Events manager to help you execute the proper menu for your event. They work closely with the Marriott who is the exclusive caterer of the Augusta Convention Center. Their website is user friendly and provides you with answers to most of your questions. You even get to see the pricing breakdowns. All their forms and prices are online to start the planning process from anywhere at anytime. After your event is over you might want to explore the historical city of Augusta and go to the Augusta Museum of History or the Lucy Craft Laney Museum of Black History. If you are feeling artsy you can go to Morrison Museum of Art or the Gertrude Herbert Institute of Art. If you are more into historical landmarks then head to Meadow Garden and see the oldest house in Augusta.
