About Aspen Airport
Opened in 1946 as a privately owned gravel landing strip available for public use Aspen/Pitkin County Airport (ASE) has grown and expanded over the years to transform into a modern public airport serving all of Pitkin County. Located four miles from downtown Aspen the airport is easily accessible via CO-82W. With a focus on guest experiences the airport offers restaurants, terminal services, and ambassadors willing to assist persons arriving at or leaving ASE.

Terminal services include Wi-Fi, self-check in kiosks, power outlets for cell phone, computer or tablet charging, ATMs, two filtered water fountains, and a courtesy telephone. In addition to these services, ASE has two restaurant options. A restaurant with seating is available outside of security and a quick grab and go style restaurant is available within the security.

A notable feature of ASE is the Ambassador Program. The Ambassador program is managed by the Aspen Chamber Resort Association and staffed with long-time residents of the community. Stationed at the desk they roam through the airport assisting travelers with area information, passing out maps and guidebooks, answering questions, helping guests’ mail packages that can’t go through TSA screening, offer the use of phones, and attend to other guest service needs.
