Asheville Shuttle and Asheville Premiere Transportation provide car, van, and limo service from the airport to most local destinations. Asheville Taxi Company is the most frequently recommended taxi service based on price and availability at the airport. The city of Asheville has a bus service from the airport to the city center. Rental cars are available in the terminal from Avis, Budget, Hertz, Enterprise, and Alamo.

There are two overflow parking lots behind those two. A call waiting lot is available. Parking lots are open 24 hours a day. There are two rows of handicapped parking in the short term lot. Long term parking lot as a maximum of 30 days before being towed. There are five rental car agencies on site, including Avis and Hertz. There is also an Enterprise around the corner from the airport.

There is a taxicab staging area on the premises. Cabs at the station change daily however, there are cabs there 24 hours. Taxis are can start at $2.50 a mile, while car and limo services are flat rate based on destination. Two bus stations stop at the airport. The Ashville Downtown runs for about $1.00 per person while the Hendersonville runs for about $0.75 per person. There are no shuttling services available at the airport.

Flying The Friendly Skies at Asheville Airport
Asheville Regional Airport lies nine miles just outside of Asheville, North Carolina. The airport opened in 1961 and spans 900 acres of land. There is one main terminal that was built in 1961 and it was expanded in 1992. The airport sees roughly 700,000 passengers annually with an average of 165 flights per day and nearly 65,000 flights per year. Allegiant Airlines, Delta Airlines and US Airways are all serviced as well as the Airbus A320 and Airbus A319. It is also able to accommodate military airlines as well. The airport is now also offering non-stop flights.

Asheville airport is a relatively small airfield located about nine miles south of Asheville, North Carolina. While small, the airfield is large enough to have accommodated the Concorde SST and Air Force One.

The city of Asheville and the management of the airport have made $17.8 million in improvements to the facility that resulted in a record of 750,000 passengers as of August 2014. Asheville airport is a regional business hub with daily flights provided by Allegiant Air, United, U. S. Air, and Delta to Florida, Chicago, Detroit, New York, and Charlotte. The airfield also serves numerous cities in North Carolina with private commuter service.

The airport features a children’s play area, a pet relief facility, rocking chairs for waiting, a complete business center, and WiFi throughout the terminal. The Blue Ridge restaurant and shopping mall provides a bar, local crafts and gifts, and samples of North Carolina cuisine.

Asheville Regional Airport is open 24 hours a day. The terminal offers Wi-Fi Internet to all passengers. There is a business center located near Gates 1, 2 and 3. Vending machines are located around baggage claims areas. Recharging stations are located post security and the comfort of rocking chairs for the elderly and expectant mothers. There is a United States Postal Service available past security. Though there is only one restaurant available, the Blue Ridge Tavern offers fares for all types of dining experiences including hot and cold meals and a full service bar. They even offer preflight meals for take on and eat on the run (please call 20 minutes prior to your boarding time). They also offer a Solider Meal, wherein you add $5.00 to your bill and it goes towards the meal of one of the Nation’s finest. Gift shops are available before and after security checks. Baggage carts are available at baggage claim areas.

AVL Airport Area Hotels
Asheville Regional Airport offers several early hotels including the Hilton Gardens and the Comfort Inn Suites, both of which are less than five miles from the terminal. The baggage claim area can offer you more information on available hotels. Please call ahead during holiday seasons. The most frequented five star hotels in Asheville are the Biltmore Village Inn, the Grand Bohemian Hotel Asheville, and the Grove Park Inn Resort and Spa. The Biltmore Village Inn is located on the Biltmore Estate property and is a small bed and breakfast in an 1892 Queen Anne Victorian setting. The Grove Park Inn has been the vacation spot for U. S. Presidents, dignitaries, film stars, authors, and inventors since 1913.

The Residence at the Biltmore is considered to be one of the most complete facilities that provide all the best amenities as well as a central location for seeing the historical attractions and natural beauty in Asheville.
