About Angel Island
There are two distinct Angel Island areas. One is the island itself, steeped in history and rich with unspoiled nature. The island is a state park, well worth the ferry ride over to explore. Ferry costs are reasonable and there are walking, Segway, and tram tours. Camping permits vary in cost depending on the season, but are quite affordable.

There is one restaurant on the island, Cove Island. It offers reasonable prices and a full menu. The residential neighborhood of Angel Park is the tip of the Belvedere and Tiburon areas of San Francisco County. It commands amazing views of Angel Island, San Francisco Bay, and the City of San Francisco. It borders the counties of San Francisco and Marin.

Angel Island Hotels
The Water’s Edge in Tiburon offers stunning views of the city and the bay. Cost for a one-way taxi from SFO airport is affordable. This is the only waterfront hotel in Tiburon with access to all the amenities of the area and Angel Island State Park ferry.

The hotel offers several different dining options. It is within walking distance of many fine restaurants. Sam’s Anchor Café (American-Seafood), Caprice (Eclectic), and Guayama’s (Mexican) are worth trying.

The Lodge at Tiburon offers an alternative to stay in the area, located in Tiburon not far from Sausalito. The hotel features a variety of rooms and guest suites as well as dining at the hotel restaurant, Tiburon Tavern.

The hotel is within walking distance of a variety of restaurants, shops, and other sites. For those that like to explore, try Larkspur (a National Historic site ideal for a walking tour) or San Rafael, the most culturally diverse town of Marin County.
